Here’s the deal. Savemynight is for all the artists who can’t afford to promote their shows in local papers or flyers or whatever and all those people like me who love checking out new local scenes but don’t know everything that is going on in the scene. So here Zeynep And I (creators of the site) borrowed some money to be paid back in installments (Thank you lender) so that there would be a space dedicated only to the local underground or just unpromoted art scene were artist and art lovers can figure out what is happening in and around the city and support and discover each other in all the little nooks and crannies of the boroughs of Montreal.
Savemynight is Free because I always thought that the best things in life are free. It is for local artists that want people to come and check them out and local enthusiasts, critics or anyone who wants a taste of what is happening out of the mainstream to find out who’s out there doing what and what others thought about them. We encourage feedback from anyone on the aftermath section of the sight where viewers (laymen or connaisseur) may write what they thought about shows, personalities, vernisage, reading, or fashion show etc. They went to see. The site is still brand-new so please lets us know what you think could be improved. Above all thanks and remember:
The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act.

-For those of you who actually read the ‘about us’ section, here it goes...-
We (a born-Montrealer and a former Istanbulite and a fairly recent Montrealer), were lost. We just simply didn’t know where the local scene was happening. And I mean all those artists that could not afford the cash for promotion but did a helluva job singing, dancing and all sorts of performing…. Yeah those ones. Hence, the site, out of our unfinished basement in lovely NDG, we decided to create a website dedicated only to local scene where artists can post their upcoming gigs and where people like you and us could follow and also comment on them. Therefore, we encourage everyone to keep looking and posting on the site. No, we don’t like it when people start posting irrelevant and annoying content. That’s because we are not Kijiji and do not have a team of techs that maintain the site. Here, we completely rely on the community’s common sense while keeping an open-mind, knowing that a community means variety. We have different features on the site and as our resources and knowledge grow we hope to add more stuff to connect people. Don’t be shy to give us feedback. We welcome comments as well as criticisms. Enjoy!
